Nationwide Telecom Energy Optimization – Myanmar

  • Challenge:
    Telecom tower operations were suffering from:

  • High diesel consumption

  • Large number of non-operational generators

  • Poor maintenance standards and lack of procedures

  • Aging batteries increasing generator runtime

  • No centralized monitoring or control

  • 👉 Resulting in high operational costs and unreliable network performance.

Solution:


A complete nationwide energy optimization program was implemented:

  • Full assessment of tower sites, generators, batteries, and infrastructure

  • Classification of hundreds of generators (repairable / rebuild / scrap)

  • Establishment of a generator rebuild and reassembly facility

  • Creation of regional maintenance centers with spare parts control

  • Deployment of structured maintenance procedures and vendor control

  • Replacement and optimization of batteries and rectifiers

  • Integration of solar and hybrid solutions where applicable

  • Introduction of monitoring, reporting, and control systems

Execution Highlights:

  • Hundreds of generators inspected and reclassified

  • Large-scale generator rebuilding and redeployment

  • New warehouse and logistics structure established

  • Technical teams trained and operational procedures implemented
